Hmm...so you are poor, you have no place to live, no job and to top it all you are dirty, unhygienic and well...you also aren't smart. So I guess if you die it won't matter...
I see a lot of people who are not from my Religion/Sect died. Let me update a cover photo to show how I totally condemn this act because NO HUMAN DESERVES to die! I mean that is just inhumane. Also while I'm at it...people please see how intellectual and neutral I am! (Y)
Wait those people were the same religion/sect as me?!? Oh Hell no, this is totally unacceptable. No I don't care if people from their end are dying too. What did you say? NO okay, they're not innocents. Just no! I will only cry for my own people. Everyone else is...well...not human!
YOU! You come from the so called 'elite'. Please okay it's not like you actually know what a 'serious problem' feels like. You just go to your parties and tuitions (also parties) and the only 'problem' you probably face is that you're a week away from another party and you can't find the perfect dress and/or date. Also party, elite, party, elite. So what if you died? Poor people die everyday. They don't get justice. Why should you? DIE, ELITIST, DIE!
--------
Now before I get bombarded with hate remarks. Allow me to give a little background on what me write these seemingly bizarre/over-exaggerated/harsh/vague remarks mentioned above.
We all (at least all the Karachiites) would know that people from each one of the 'groups' mentioned above have lost their lives since the past...perhaps forever, but more frequently since the year began. I will admit that I see social networking websites as the first place to know people's views on current issues and I do take those views pretty seriously at times. The above remarks were like more realistic versions of what some of the comments were coming across as. It seems like everyone has turned into a self-proclaimed judge these days. And what are we judging? Who 'deserved' to die, who 'deserves' justice and whose death is a bigger deal.
We see that a rich guy died because of a dispute with a friend and BAM. All of us MUST adhere to one of two reactions! Either be the "oh-so-sympathetic" Human Being who want justice against the "brutal murderer". Or become the "practical" Human Being who thinks that people die everyday, you don't see their facebook pages going viral. Human Being...? I may have exaggerated again.
Now let me ask you to imagine a rather painful scenario (I'll try being polite this time). Mr. X is your best friend, your sibling, your parent, someone you are acquainted with...anyone you would know and would care about. Mr. X is killed. Chances are he is killed for an unfair reason. Chances are his murderer is known. You can call the police. Or how some may put it "you have enough resources to get assistance". The police investigates the case while you do all you can do make sure justice is served. You cannot breathe easy til you are sure that Mr. X has gotten justice. You are traumatized at the loss. You are hurt. You understand the pain of others, but the pain you feel surpasses everything else.
But wait! Lots of people die daily. Why aren't you doing anything for them? So next time IF someone kills Mr. Y, you should just shut up and move on because well, people die everyday right? So what if Mr. Y was all you had? So what if he was an integral part of your world? What if he was from a religion/sect not similar to those who die daily. His life became cheaper then?
Do things like religion, race, socio-economic background, class, age and gender determine the worth of living Human Beings?
Let me clarify here that I am in no way saying that people who can/do not take steps for justice (for whatever reason) are any less in worth than those who do. We have to admit that we are no ones to judge whose death was a bigger loss. I do agree that the media has the power to portray this message in a better way (for obvious reasons) and in most cases they seem to have chosen not to. However, that doesn't give us the right to blame (yes, that is what it comes across as) anyone who is using his/her resources to get justice.
If I die in the way these people did (God Forbid), I'd expect the same from my loved ones. Wouldn't you?
