Kindly weep in another room while I try to be funny!

There is nothing wrong with laughing at something that may have otherwise stressed us out. Duh! Its the easiest way out. Sometimes, it might even help you solve your problems.

But seriously, what happened around a month ago, at least what I observed, was something that really made me realize that all this time I thought that the people who went around killing people for no reason were inhuman. Unfortunately, I was mistaken! Its not just them, it includes those who managed to escape, those who walk freely today, those who are 'brave' enough to sit inside their 'safe' homes and use their brains to pop out such rubbish. Oh who am I kidding, there are no brains involved in THAT!

Yes, I know I'm late, but I am talking about the mass killings in Karachi. The idea of having yourself, a loved one or someone you merely knew; being mercilessly chopped into pieces and being left off in a bori (sack) is ought to send chills down your spine, isn't it? However, just because it wasn't you, but a number of strangers you never heard of or would have ever heard of, it can be understood that you did not feel anything for them, not even sympathy, but does that also give you the right to turn it into a joke?
Now lets put it this way, imagine having someone you knew get killed off like that. I bet the joke isn't funny anymore, is it?

You can call it a way of using humor as a defense mechanism, you can even call it being 'light hearted' or whatever. Heck, even if you call it an art! NOTHING can really justify how you forged Zubaida apa's totka (remedy) or dialogues from movies as disgusting as your brain is. (Oh I keep forgetting - they're not there in the first place) If only it was JUST about forgery. Honestly, when you go around asking your friends (who are obviously alive) if they're at home or in a bori, did you ever think that there is a slight probability that he could have actually been inside one? You want to kill me now, don't you? Imagine how someone in such a situation would've felt when they saw hundreds of people 'liking' the sad fact that the death of their loved one is nothing but a joke to the rest of the world!

Kids with guns by M.OrellanaNow that's that. But unfortunately, that's not all. I've always despised the kids who play cricket near my house. Not only are they loud (what an understatement!), but they also make me realize how lucky I was when I was a kid. But that's not the point right now.
Since the past few weeks, they've decided to give the cricket bats some rest. They've shifted to something more "up to date". They've shifted to guns. Toy guns, mind you. Really, we see a bunch of 'bad guys' carrying out the most massive amount of killings in the history of our city, and all we do is buy our children replicas of their weapons? How smart art thou! :D

I do not mean to say that these people are as evil as the murderers. I also do not mean to say that we should stop having fun because we survived. There's no need to feel guilty either. But a little respect would really do. If you can not even do that, its obvious who's the one living in a sack!
